On the very edge of Warande, a new district in the southern part of the city, a 'floating residential district' with 8 energy-efficient, low-maintenance and sustainable floating homes was realised in Torenvalktocht. The floating houses were built in collective private ownership ('collectief particulier opdrachtgeverschap' or CPO), with private parties acting as the principal. The body of water was enlarged to become a beautiful, spacious bowl.
The residence complies fully with the Dutch building regulations. The average floor space is about 171 m2 and the volume is an ample 493 m3.
Naturally, the residence is comfortable, sustainable, and energy-efficient. It has been certified as a safe home by the police department (Politie Keurmerk Veilig Wonen).
